I went to Geneva's Plainpalais flea market this afternoon and spent some time browsing through boxes of old books, postcards, and all sorts of trinkets from another time. A certain someone often makes fun of me for the "treasures" I bring home (today's find: a beautiful map of Geneva from the 1940s), but I like things with a little bit of history, wondering who they used to belong to and what the story is behind them.
On another market note, since Halloween is not a huge holiday here and clearly there's no Thanksgiving, Christmas has started in the stores as of a couple weeks ago. This is 1) crazy, and 2) making me little sad that I won't be home for it this year. But I am looking forward to learning what a Swiss Christmas is like. I assume it involves a lot of chocolate.
