Ein Prosit! Oktobermadness in Munich

So the other weekend my friends Stephanie, Diane and I loaded ourselves into a sporty European rental car and roadtripped it out to Bavaria for the 200th anniversary of Oktoberfest. 6 hours on the autobahn and a half an hour lost in the outskirts of Munich later (thank you to Graham's iPad for saving the day), we made it!

Oktoberfest is amazing. Beer "tents" is a complete misnomer. These structures hold THOUSANDS of people, who are all swilling beer, eating pretzels, singing drinking songs played by live bands, dancing on long wooden tables and generally having a fantastic time. I can't remember the last time I made so many friends.

Also, EVERYONE is in traditional dress, and by that I mean lederhosen (for the men) and dirndls (for the ladies). We were the only weirdos in jeans a t-shirts. That was the only fail of the weekend - not getting a drindl!

I hope these videos will give a bit of an idea of what it was like! Check out some more pics too!

Munich is also a beautiful city, which we discovered the next day when we left the tents and walked around. Can't wait to go back!
